Visual Accounting Products

During our long association with the LIBRA Corporation, Visual Accounting Development has augmented the functionality of the Signature Accounting Systems by developing additional applications, creating a feature rich environment for a variety of business types. The following are a just a few of the applications and enhancements Visual Accounting has developed.

Fixed Assets:

The fixed assets system is a simple but useful application that lets you define your depreciating assets. It permits depreciation calculations, reporting and journalization. It accommodates multiple modes of depreciation and full or part year depreciation. This program also permits a variety of reports that can list all assets and their current state of depreciation, forecasting into the future for budgeting. Visual's Fixed Assets application can define, calculate and post to G/L, improving the seamless design of your accounting system.

Sales Analysis:

Although LIBRA's Accounts Receivable has its own Sales Analysis feature, Visual Accounting has developed an auxiliary Sale Analysis Program that will track Sales Data on every customer and product purchase over an unlimited time period, detailed month by month. It also offers expanded Reporting by Sales Rep & Product Type, and supports Multi-Currency conversions. Other features include Budgeting defined for specified customers and products with comparison & variance reporting, and exporting of Sales Data to Spread Sheet Applications (Lotus, Excel, Etc.) for graphical representation. The data is collected from the monthly invoice postings from Accounts Receivable. If desired, specific customers & products may be included or excluded in the data base, all with a minimal amount of effort for the user. Separate databases can be maintained for different currencies and for consolidation purposes.

Bill of Materials

The Bill of Materials module is an external system that interfaces with both the Inventory and Order Entry modules of LIBRA's Accounting System. Items used to form a bill of materials are taken from the item master file of LIBRA's Inventory Control Module. The allocation and relieving of inventory is performed by applying the appropriate bill of materials, defined in Visual Accounting’s Bill of Materials.

The Bill of materials is similar to a recipe. It tells you what items and how many are required to construct a finished product. Basically, if your business produces a product that is assembled from a number of base component parts, and goes through various levels of sub-assemblies, then the bill of materials module could be a strong asset to your inventory and production processing.

If you are looking for a system that performs on-screen inquiries & prints reports on relational information and inventory levels, computes the cost of all components in a bill of materials then this may be the system you need. It also permits variable cost and price increases and allows selective data exports to popular spread sheet programs (Lotus, Excel).

Contract Pricing:

The Contract Pricing program best suits a business that requires an unlimited number of price variations for their customer / product relationships. Once a price is negotiated with a customer for a specific good, the negotiated price is saved in a customer price file. Through Order Entry, every time the customer places an order for that product, the negotiated price will automatically be accessed and integrated into your accounting system. In addition to this efficiency gain, prices can be updated on mass by simply setting a percentage price increase. Automatic price roll-overs from advance pricing at expiry dates can be activated as well.

Trucking Analysis:

The Trucking Analysis System is an excellent tool to monitor your transport costs and incorporate them in decision making and pricing. This system allows you to record delivery information to & from customers, convert it to shipping cost data and then analyze this information to uncover performance problems. These actual freight costs can then be used in the pricing formula for individual customers or to set standardized shipping rates. For those companies who share their fleet of trucks among a number of plants, this system can produce a cost analysis for each plant. If you pay for your trucks to be serviced, the system is adapted to maintain a service record and convert the service costs into an operational cost per Kilometre or Mile. If you are a transport company or maintain a fleet of trucks to ship & receive your products, this system could improve your bottom line by analyzing costs and uncovering bottlenecks.

Canadian Payroll:

Visual Accounting has developed a fully Bi-Lingual Canadian Payroll System that allows you to control your payroll functions in house, while increasing operating efficiency. When used with LIBRA's Signature Accounting System it can become a seamless, fully integrated system. It also has the added capacity to interface with many other popular accounting systems (eg. PLATINUM, ACCPAC Plus, etc). Our Canadian Payroll System performs a large variety of payroll related functions. Its primary function is to allow the input of employee time card & salary information, to calculate payroll deductions and issue payroll cheques, in the most efficient manner possible. An additional function of the payroll system is to maintain personnel records, perform cost analysis, and generate reports. Visual's Canadian Payroll performs these functions for all territories and provinces, in accordance with the directions provided in the Machine Computational Tax Guide. The payroll system prints T4s and Relevé 1 forms at year-end, Record of Employment Slips and a wide variety of payroll related reports upon request. The system also allows for Direct Deposit with most major Canadian Banks.

Employee-Training Tracking System:

For companies with structured job descriptions and strict job qualification guide-lines or for those companies who pay for employee training, this is an excellent method to track employees qualifications & training progress. This module comes in handy when performance evaluations and internal promotions occur. Although this system is a stand alone module, it does interface with Visual Canadian Payroll as a nice additional feature.

Accounting Special Features:

The Accounting Special Features System is a collection of custom programs that have been developed over the years for various clients. It contains numerous reports and utilities for the standard Libra systems: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Order Entry, Inventory, and General Ledger. Some of these features are listed:

Weekly Statements, Tax Reconciliation Reports, Multi-Currency Features, Monthly Sales Reports, Summary Receipts Report, Payment Trial Balance, Detailed Receipts Reports, Customer Sales Status Report, Customer ATB ASCII Export, Summary Receipt File Inquiry, Etc.

Lumber Industry Enhancements:

Modifications have been made to the Signature Series to fit the lumber Industry. These include:
